Author. Editor. Writing Coach & Consultant.

The book you are carrying needs a detail-oriented editor to help you push through the next stage of your publishing journey.

You are a legacy carrier. It’s time to share it with those whom you are called to impact.

BOOK EDITING SERVICES

  • PROOFREADING & COPYEDITING SERVICE: Focuses on line-by-line editing in writing conventions (grammar, usage, mechanics/punctuation, and spelling) and sentence structure (clarity, word choice, semantics, and syntax). This service is for those who have finished writing their books, and they need an editor to review it before it is laid out by a graphic designer for publication.

  • SUBSTANTIVE/CONTENT EDITING SERVICE: Focuses on deep-level editing by chapter, paragraph, and sentence, genre-specific issues, organization, clarity, and coherence. May involve rewriting and/or reordering of sentences and paragraphs to ensure flow.

  • DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING SERVICE: Focuses on organization, pacing, flow, deep-level restructuring, coherence, consistency, voice, and genre-specific issues. Involves taking the book vision or concept in its beginning stages and helping the author develop it chapter by chapter into a book. This service includes writing and editing.

  • MANUSCRIPT REVIEWS: Focuses on giving focused, surface-level and deep-level editing feedback on a written manuscript and addressing the author’s concerns. The feedback is given in written and/or audio formats. It does not include reviewing grammary, usage, spelling, or mechanics. The manuscript is not changed, revised, or edited. Suggestions for revision are given, but the author is mainly receiving feedback to implement on his or her own. The process is as follows:

    1) The author submits the manuscript to the editor after payment of invoice.

    2) The editor reads it, reviews it, and sends written and/or audio feedback to the author.

    3) The editor can address any questions regarding the feedback.

Services are available to authors, faith-based, educational and corporate entrepreneurs, organizations, and non-profit organizations.

Each service varies in pricing and focuses only on the written content of the book. Does not include interior book layout, typesetting, front cover design, manuscript formatting for KDP or other publishing platforms, or other graphic design-related/ book layout services.

It only takes a conversation to unlock direction, strategy, and fresh perspective. 〰️

Assisting authors who need conversations, strategies, insight, feedback and support while writing their books and birthing/building their visions.

  • INTRODUCTORY PROJECT CALL (20-minute session): The most frequently asked question I get is: “What exactly do you do?”

The introductory project call (via phone or Zoom) is an excellent opportunity to find out! During this call, you can expect the following to take place:

  1. You share your project.

  2. I explain each service, discuss my editing/coaching process, share next steps, and answer any questions.

  3. Project calls are designed to gain clarification and insight on the services offered. If specific feedback or concepting is needed for your project, then the next step would be to book a strategy session.

  • STRATEGY SESSIONS (45-minute one-on-one sessions): These laser-focused book development or curriculum development consultations are like strategic huddles for the writer/client who needs insight, strategy, and creative ideas on how he or she can move forward or who needs to talk through problems that have occurred during the writing process. The writer/client takes the generated ideas and strategic feedback and implements them on his or her own. Editing and writing services are not included with this option. Sessions are done via Zoom.

  • COACHING SESSIONS (90-minute one-on-one sessions): These sessions are designed for the author who has a clear vision and concept for his or her book project/curriculum development project, but would like in-depth feedback, guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their writing process.  The author will receive feedback from a writing and an editing perspective that includes revision strategies, genre-specific feedback, questioning, and developmental editing feedback. The coach can also serve as an accountability partner who helps the author to stay on track. The author will take the generated ideas, strategic feedback, and action steps and implements them on his or her own. Additional editing and writing services are not included with this option. Sessions are done via Zoom.
