PROOFREADING & COPYEDITING:

Focuses on line-by-line editing in writing conventions (grammar, usage, mechanics/punctuation, and spelling) and sentence structure (clarity, word choice, semantics, and syntax). This service is for those who have finished writing their books, and they need an editor to review it before it is laid out by a graphic designer for publication.

Let's discuss your project!

One-on-One Sessions

Assisting authors who need conversations, strategies, insight, feedback and support while writing their books and birthing/building their visions.

INTRODUCTORY PROJECT CALL (20-minute session)

The most frequently asked question I get is: “What exactly do you do?”

The introductory project call (via phone or Zoom) is an excellent opportunity to find out!

During this call, you can expect the following to take place:

  1. You share your project.

  2. I explain each service, discuss my editing/coaching process, share next steps, and answer any questions.

  3. Project calls are designed to gain clarification and insight on the services offered. If specific feedback or concepting is needed for your project, then the next step would be to book a strategy session.

BOOK DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY SESSIONS OR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY SESSIONS (45-minute one-on-one sessions)

These laser-focused sessions are like strategic huddles for the writer/client who needs insight, strategy, and creative ideas on how he or she can move forward. The writer/client takes the generated ideas and strategic feedback and implements them on his or her own. Sessions are done via Zoom. Editing and writing services are not included with this option.

Different writing scenarios may include but are not limited to:

  1. Helping writers who have the vision or ideas, but they do not know how to bring it together, where to start, or what they need.

  2. Developing concepts to transform different forms of media, such as courses/webinars, videos, conferences, etc. into books, training manuals, focused journals, and other types of books or curriculum materials.

  3. Engaging in focused feedback on the development of his or her current work-in-progress (also includes focused feedback for those who are developing their own curriculum).

  4. Talking through problems that have occurred during the writing process and receiving feedback.

*NOTE: All of the scenarios listed above may not always occur during the scheduled session.

BOOK COACHING SESSIONS OR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT COACHING SESSIONS (90-minute one-on-one sessions)

These sessions are designed for the author who has a clear vision and concept for his or her book project/curriculum development project, but would like in-depth feedback, guidance, support, and encouragement throughout their writing process.  These sessions are conducted on Zoom.

You will receive feedback from a writing and an editing perspective that includes revision strategies, genre-specific feedback, questioning, and developmental editing feedback. The coach can also serve as an accountability partner who helps them to stay on track.

The writer/client takes the generated ideas, strategic feedback, and action steps and implements them on his or her own. Additional editing and writing services are not included with this option.
